• Thickness planing
• Routing

Materials: Fee covers provided materials

Objectives:

1. Use different materials and jigs to make a 3D-patterned cutting board consisting of triangular elements

Description:

1. The first meeting will be an introduction to the methods of making a 15” x 16” cutting board. Subsequent sessions will be determined by instructor.

2. Materials, chosen by instructor, are best suited for the project

3. It will be strongly suggested that each student make his/her own jigs according to the master jigs. This will streamline gluing time on the project.

4. An initial triangular element will be created by cutting the separate pieces and gluing them together in a jig

5. A first row of elements will be glued together in a jig. This will be repeated for the required number of element rows

6. Element rows will be systematically glued together in a jig

7. Board will be cut and planed to final size, followed by the routing of a finger groove at both ends
